Any Expats Missing Home?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I'm originally from the UK and have been living and working in Thailand now for the last 3 years. I must admit I'm missing the the good old British countryside like hell and it makes me jealous to read some of the posts on here and I suffer terribly from nostalgia of the good old days out with the dogs etc. these little nostalgia trips always forget the cold weather and rain though!

Anyone else on here and EXpat missing blighty?

Try turning her over once in a while and you might find something pink and wet.....

I am away from home more than Im at home working in Asia ...I had the chance to move to Oz last year and was going to up sticks and move to Vietnam earlier this year ...but got back to Scotland in feb

Agreed you have got about as good as any man could have it up your way mate, no rat race, people are f***ing normal to each other. I can see already I will have that here, it's a very different story

Mate. 5 years in The Middle East and I couldn't agree more. The green of May, a nice pint of Marsdens Pedigree and good company. I'm sure there's loads more but they meant a lot to me.

I have been popping back for work, it's good really cause you realise why you f****d off in the first place.

In and around London folk are living like rats and the politicians are happy to help them do so while robbing them all blind.

Loads of folk cutting about with absolutely no pride in themselves at all......all they know is shit and they are naturally shit themselves.

I live England the country, it's the best in the world, but I just can't live there anymore with how it has become......or to be more precise, what it has been engineered to be ;)

I miss home all the time. I usually find the best antidote is to spend a week or two watching my wallet being emptied, over there.

I've just put 30gallons of diesel, in my truck. £56.

Haha absolutely agree with that point!

WILF to be honest that's what most British expats I meet out here say; the UK from a politics and social perspective is definitely going down hill. I think that's why the British love nostalgia much, maybe things were actually better in the 'good old days'.
