My mates family own a farm about a mile away from a rural village and there's a good trout river runs threw the bottom fields. We grew up down at that river camped out and fished all summer long. They were the good times. Each time we camped out at around 12.30am in the still of night time you could hear whistling coming from the village. It was an old guy lived down the far side of the lane and he went to pub each evening stayed until last orders then walked the road home whistling old Irish songs on his way. He probably never knew all them years we could hear him from down the fields. We were there that often and heard him over the years that it got to the stage no one even mentioned him anymore when we heard the whistling. Now we're all grew up and have families we would very rearly be down, but about 5 years ago I brought the young lad down and we camped out. Yes around 12.30 came the whistling and he asked who or what it was so I explained to him what was going on. Called into my mates farm a few weeks later and told him I'd been down got a few fish and said about the whistling and asked what the mans name was again as I'd forgot and couldn't tell my young lad his name. The guys dead apparently this right while! Llf I near shit when he told me that. I hope he's not pulling my leg but one things for sure if it happens again I'll be running up to the whistling to find out if someone's taking the piss lol

Could well be chara, none of that would have happened only for my egit mate taking the old sash. I did go back to the place one other time with a few lads that wanted to visit it and it was just as scary the second time around though it was agreed nothing to be taken or touched. The building has since been demolished and a new property built on the land.

What's the stash your mate took
 sash not stash
What's a sash
It's part of a band uniform the goes around your neck and displays the number of your band etc. The orange order in N.ireland wear them.

cant stand things like that being demolished. Be great if they'd leave them un touched.

Ah well, anyone involved in the demo is fecked now then

Have you ever looked in to exactly who owned the land/house.?

lol No chara never looked into it. It was a road called Old Church Road with a church and a graveyard at the end. That didn't help matters when we were young and knew that was close by when all that stuff was going on llf.

A spot we go on in the dales has a single width road running along the top side of the permission. It splits the moors and the fields.

I wasn't there on the particular night but a mate of mine swears he saw a young girl (about eight years old) skipping up the middle of the road one night in a white dress. I believe that he believes that's what he saw and he's never really suggested it was a ghost but.. A kid out at 2am, on a deserted road, old fashioned looking clothes and not responding when shouted... Would have shit me up
