lurchers 2,763
Can't see the problem in it as there's people breeding cockerpoos, they will just be the same but I would rather put a little bedlington dog over her as they are getting to big at the minute.atb 1 Quote Link to post
morton 5,368
What would you be hoping to get from the mating that the Beddy or Spaniel cannot offer?.If you wish to utilise the abilities of both dam and sire the progeny should make for more than useful bushing companions,id not dock them. i have a granitor bred bedlington bitch 14" to the shoulder was thinking of putting my mates cocker dog over her both 100% bushing dogs... was just wondering if anybody has any pics/experience of dogs bred the same way and would they need to be docked etc..... cheers james Edited May 31, 2015 by morton 1 Quote Link to post

whipstar 18
thanks for the replys its just a option at the moment as its good at its job and its local to me but if i can find a decent working bedlington stud i will be using that Quote Link to post

When you look at most of the bedlingtons now they are getting to leggy because people aren't doing selective breeding like they should be.its easier for them to go to joe blogs around the corner who will charge £100 then driving for the right size and type and pay that bit more.its laziness and greed to save instead to improve. darbo 4,774
ive have a bedlington coming on 9 years he has been a good little dog for me. you could possibly gain from the mating a better coat as a lot of bedlingtons have poor coats these days also added biddability. The work ethic and nose of both breeds are excellent a handy bushing/flushing /marking type could be produced from a pair of the right type on both sides. 6 Quote Link to post
