leethedog 3,071 Posted June 2, 2015 Report Share Posted June 2, 2015 Lovely fish pal I love perch fishing iv only ever seen 1 4lb perch and it was caught by my brother when we were teenagers from a small lake in allhallows kent it.was.a caught on perch fry as live baitIs that the lake on the holiday caravan site,I caught the record carp out there about 10 year ago 24ib,not big by any means but big for that puddle lol.also had a 5ib perch at whit vane but was fishing for tench at the time gear was a bit heavy to enjoy the fish of a lifetime but these things happenyeah mate thats the one got some nice leather carp in there as well and good tench Quote Link to post

There's an old saying, a big perch is the biggest fish of all. I think it's true. There's trout lakes in the Irish Midlands where trout anglers catch and throw back 2 and 3 pounders regularly but you don't hear much of them being targeted by specimen hunters in Ireland. Nice fish J.D.. The Perch is the only fish I'd have any interest in specimen hunting for and my PB is 2 lbs 8oz which is small in comparison to your fish. Well done. Quote Link to post

With a twisty tail. have you tried texas rigging them? like this.. i use it fishing heavy kelp beds for pollock and such, works well. was going to suggest the same thing as thats how I fish for wrasse in the kelp jd theres an app called geek and thats full of curly tails from china for penny's or perhaps make your own as theyre meant to be easy] Quote Link to post
