Same as a 1st x saluki greyhound type most can't do mr right after Christmas but can be good fun dogs as a bit of an alrounder, I had a saluki whippet greyhound good bitch but suffered with injuries abit to much n if one of the runs was a stinger shed not have much more left in the tank, she never suffered from the dreaded acidosis tho which a greyhound blooded dog can be more prone to IMO, like a say can be good fun dogs ope you find a gudden ; )

Whippets & Salukis have as many bad points as good, they look the part when crossed together that's for sure, but could i live with one day in day out, proberbly not, i would rather invest my time in something with a more certain out come.

When you say whippet i have seen some decent animals from this cross & owned a saluki x hardblood whippet(racing line`s with greyhound blood) I found them to be ideal dogs for a variety of tasks. Indeed the best bitch i have owned & still have at 8yrs was from this cross. The only thing i found an issue was the variety of size in the litter even though the hardblood dam was 23inches there was 1 bitch that only made 19 half inches but they are certainly a cross that i would consider if in the market for a pup

Had mine for ten years now and she is still nailing them on a regular basis, mine threw more to the whippet than the saluki in looks and temperament she balanced out at 23tts, which imo is the ideal size for a ferreting dog, fast as hell off the mark beginning to slow up a bit now which at that age is to be expected, if you want a fast dog to take the bolters, than the early pace that this cross can produce is a cross that i would reccomend. Good luck in your search.

I've got a 3/4 whippet 1/4 saluki here, she has taken a lot of the saluki, some of the litter are more whippety, I t21hink I have the smallest out of the litter, the rest are

21-24", mine is 20" TTS, I was hoping she would make 22-23 as the parents were this size.

I like her, very quirky and I now think I get why people don't like saluki blood, you can get her to retrieve, but it is in no way like a spaniel/collie/lab etc, she wouldn't lower herself to that level of excitement :tongue2: Yell or be aggressive and you can forget it.

I got her after debating a whip/grey, she is a lot heavier boned than a whippet, with good feet, doesn't shake, but slower, and she seems to like water, which I thought was odd for a saluki/whip.
