Air Rifle Hunting And Care Tips.

Recommended Posts

I have and will likely get some set up. I have some from work, home made, we use them a fair bit, rarely standing mostly seated in hides/ OP's in rural areas. In built up areas they're great for standing, while setting up back from windows in buildings etc.

I would still like a bipod, removable would be better, to allow me to get into prone and fire from a more stable position. I understand the rifle isn't heavy and it's not difficult to hold it for extended periods of time, but if laid up in a hide/ ambush on a rabbit run, the more relaxed the better, I think.

One of the reasons I'm thinking of a picatinny rail is so I can remove it with ease. I do like the magnet method above, but the rail would be multi purpose and allow me to use a torch and other attachments on it.

It all worked it's self out! There's a new dive shop opened this week in Salisbury. I went for the middle ground and bought a 7L bottle with all the gubbins for £200. On my way to the dive shop to fi

Cheers fellas.

The rifle is definitely zeroed for the back garden :) first shot in anger fired through it and I bagged this little fat fella with a head shot, right below the ear, exactly where I was aiming.

Thanks for the shimming advice, it worked a treat.

I set myself up in the garden, with a 15m firing lane down to the fence to where the rats have been coming through to nibble at the rabbit hutch. He popped his head through the gap at the bottom and lights out.

I'd put out some peanut butter (thanks for the tip Copyu Hunter :) ) and had sat there for about 30 mins. Payed off and a nice chance to check the rifle out.

Not the most impressive kill, but I'm happy for my first one.

Very neat! Now you're hooked!

For safety, please stick a paving slab in front of your fence and stick the peanut butter on that. No more holes in the fence. ;)

:) There's trees and a bank (earth, not HSBC) on the other side, I'm happy it wasn't going anywhere.

Thanks Davy I will definitely take you up on your offer.

Work is hectic at the moment! I'm on the Red Devils Freefall Team and we take advantage of blue skies, 7days a week. I'm lucky if I get a day off every 2 weeks. If you don't mind, I'll send you a PM once I've settled down.

Thanks very much for the offer, I'm looking forward to it.

So,

now I have an A&M moderator/silencer on order and a primos trigger stick tripod, going in on pay day, I looking for a torch to complete the rifle.

I've been flicking through different threads and a CREE (not sure what this is) T20 seems to come up, quite often. Do any of you have any opinion? I'd rather keep it small and light, rather than a big lamp.

This will then be me fully set up and ready to get to grips with some hunting. Is it too much to pull out the old Ghillie suit? :D

You'll probably be working Mike but the 1st weekend in August is the annual Air Arms get together near Nuneaton, all welcome AA owners or otherwise for plinking fun, laughs, beer, BBQs, AA spares etc. Camping available, basic facilities but great fun!

Very busy weekend I'm afraid mate, sounds like fun though.

Iv been trying to put up an answer to your post for 30 mins as this computer is fecking up lol

The t20 is more than you will need bud and the beam will go mich farther than your rifle will shoot

there a cracking lamp just get a scope mount for it and your off you will not no its there adds very ,very little wait to your set up

Iv got the t20,t6,and the t67

the t67 is an amazing bit of kit but a bit of over kill for an air rifle as it will light up over two fields away and its on the big side lol

the t6 is a good lamp to but id go for the t20 as its all you will ever need

and get some different led drop ins to ,red, blue, green so you can change them out in the field to see what works best for you

You can get them off ebay get the one that comes with the battery, s and charger get two battery's all ways good to carry a spare battery with you

Feck i really need some one to sort this computer out or im going to put my foot through it

im going to have to stay off the porn :cray: :cray: :cray:
