Do You Think They "know"?

Recommended Posts

So, I was in the garden, smoking my Petersen pipe and some nicely flavoured Baccy....having a pint and just chilling. I'd just oiled the gun stocks, and had my camera with me in the garden. Bugger me if the following did not show up soon after I sat down.....Obviously General Licenses were observed at all times, so please don't ask....but I reckon they 'knew' the guns were away and were taking the piss.....

I never get it so easy in the field.....

Some hours later the gun was with me, and this is not covered by the general license.

PS - I don't normally take pictures of dead quarry, but I am keeping records of the sex and number of greys in my garden just as much as on my perms. A satisfying 30yrd head shot. Dead.

The pipe was nice as well, I'm lucky that near me there is a proper old fashioned tobacconist....a real 'man shed' of cigars and real tobacco......

Firstly, smoking your pipe? And just chilling? Pahahaha. God I can't picture you and it annoys me. Your like some nutty librarian who randomly is into air guns.

So yes, re your post I know what you mean. I find I can walk right by pigeons round where I live and in the park, like within 10 yards. It's as if they know there were we are, maybe like an area thing. When we are in there domain, fields, woods etc, there two pence says something wrong and we shouldn't be there. And so bugger off at the slightest movement.

It's defiantly a location thing. They do know, yes.

:laugh::laugh: Indeed, up north if I hold my arm out, the crows, rooks, and maggies fly off....down in the midlands, cos they are never shot at, they just look at ya.... :icon_redface:

Perfect shot with the squirrel. I've eaten a lot of squirrel recently as a friend's wood was infested with them. It's a lot of faf as they're built like tanks. But it is a fantastic meat and I don't like to waste it. 'Kentucky fried squirrel' is one of my kid's favorite! (I know how treat them!) It seems that squirrel is the meat of the moment in London restaurants. As such, there's a lot of interest in it. My local butcher traded me a brace of squirrels for a kilogram of kangeroo steak last week. It has to be the most bizzare trade I've ever made!!!
