jigsaw 11,899
Fair play Liam you stuck by the dog and got him back right again when you could have took the easy route and pts,vet was sound aswell,c**ts around here would rob ya. Im not a sentimental type FM but this dog has given the 2 of us great excitement and pleasure over the last few years, hes by no means the best but he is a trier and he deserved fair play.I hope to have another season or two from him if all goes well,if not I'll have him as a houyse dog companion mutt.Let him fade away with dignity.I owe him that. 2 Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,899
thanks for the kind words lads,if he does get to where he was next season I'll have photos plastered all over the net, calling him a MIRACLE MUTT .I have to say hes a tough oul fecker in fairness, over the years hes had his fair share of grief, and each time hes come back to do his stuff at a fair decent level. Mickey Finn 3,016
Good for you Jigsaw. Most guys I know would have left him in the woods. I hope he heals up and gets back to hunting. Quote Link to post
Hydropotesinermis 724
Oof. Hope your dog heals up well mate. Wouldn't wish that on anybody. Out of interest, are there any Muntjac in the area? Its probably not in this case as its in an odd place as usually it's a cross the flank or haunch but I have seen a couple of dogs cut like that by Muntjac bucks before. Quote Link to post
BlackStreak 498
I catch hogs with my dogs and have a little experience with wounds such as this. This kinda cut is the same sort of wound a dog will get if he is caught on a hog that's in a group and the boar comes in behind your dog and hooks him right in the hind end with his tushes, ripping the dog off the hog it is holding. I'm not saying that this is what happened to yours but do to its location, the direction the cut runs, and it's appearance, it is a likely scenario. The cut looks deep but it runs with the muscle tissue instead of across the muscle fibers. This kinda cut heals faster than the later one. It look real deep and pretty bad but my prediction is 10 to 12 weeks and he will be 100% 2 Quote Link to post

No muntjack at all hydro,im fairly certain it was a stump that did it,he was sliced clean as a blade had done it. Quote Link to post

All the best with that Quote Link to post
