out this morning around 5.30 am, with dogs,round my usual woodland haunts, always heard the cuckoos call about this time of year,sadly not a sound,always used to be hot spots for them,any one else seen or heard any in your parts of the country,well on the red list along side corn crake and other birds that we used to see and hear in the country sad changing times.

was a hot spot were I live,,but this year strange.there about but not singing..well not like I usually hear..they reckon they will be lost to this country in the next ten/fifteen years..sad that..

Got two on my valleys, but not heard them this week. Had the male right in to me the other week. They'll be on with breeding now. Derwent valley near Ladybower reservoir is usually a good place to find them.
