Skull Hooker 185
They got a little girl of 20 in there, would you expect any different What does her age have to do with it? I think the point he's trying to make is that because she's 20, she may not have developed the life skills or experience necessary to fully participate in decisions which affect the lives of millions of people in the UK. Personally, I agree with him. There are probably exceptions, but I prefer the decisions to be taken by people who at least may have earned a living for a while. In the USA she she wouldn't be trusted to buy an alchoholic drink.
Blackbriar 8,569
Glad you said 'MAY have earned a living' ! Cameron and Osborne have never done a day's work in their lives - both multimillionaires - and I'd wager that a good few Members have had no previous productive career ! Ooh, just remembered, Cameron was a political advisor to John Major, does that count ?

truescot 234
And this is why British politics will be stuck with these old duffers making decisions. Which lately have been catastrophic ! We moan about "normal" people getting involved in politics, and yet here we go "to young,no expierence" . Or would it have been easier for you if it had been an English lass? I despise the snp and everything it stands for. But age isn't an issue if you can prove to conduct yourself in a good manner and do you're job well. I woujd add she needs a stylist and maybe a trip to a good clothes shop instead of tk max lol Edited May 16, 2015 by truescot

In the USA she she wouldn't be trusted to buy an alchoholic drink. She has been chosen by her constituents. They seem to think there is nothing wrong with her age. In the UK we have 17 year old soldiers in charge of armed vehicles, guns and large trucks. They aren't old enough to buy an alcoholic drink. What were you doing at 20?

mackay 3,458
I'm pretty sure she'll have a whole different outlook in life in say ten years time. Myself, I think you should have to be a minimum age to be an mp ( no, not an old duffer). You should also have to have done something more in life than go to uni and study politics and then be slotted into the political system where the more arses you are willing to kiss, the more likely you are to succeed.
