bryn27 89
Went lifting last Saturday and straight away noticed a 4x4 in the middle of the field I had traps set in around the boundary. decided to sit and watch with the binos as this was a strange vehicle, young lad (20's) with 2 kids and dogs also air rifles. He eventually clocked me clocking him and packed up the motor to drive off, I got kitted up and went to check the 3 traps I had located in there. blah blah he wanders up and asks if I'm moleing in that field as he would shoot of with the motor out of the way. Fecker was a young cock sucker gamekeeper type that would drop his pants at the crack of the whip for a promotion. Wanted to see my home made probe and got excited regards his air weapons and how good they were but he'd shot f**k all as he scared it away with his jeep driving through a live lambing field. Anyway I didn't like the fecker one bit even though he said he had permission to shoot rabbits as he'd dropped his business card into the farm the day before. double checked this and it was true much to my dismay, as on checking the same traps today (3 talpex) they are gone. Hes fecked if it was him responsible and the job with the local hunt will be a distant memory, not saying it was him but the odds are stacked and the current trail cams will sort it one way or another. 1 Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Simple answer Bryn - no-one! In my book, folks earn trust and respect. Call me pessimistic, but it has worked out better for me over the years to apply this logic 5 Quote Link to post

shropshire mole 190
Must be lucky where I do moles!! I mark my traps with bright orange tent pegs, traps do not disappear, very lucky I guess Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Just ordered another 10 talpex to compensate the problem. next fix is cheaper though, slow burn fuse to the motor where it's parked up. string of magnum day ropes in the boot will be interesting. torchey 1,328
Theirs a bloke near me that uses sticks about 3ft long painted tops as markers you can see them fecking miles away, think he must have proper dodgy minces and a real good discount on traps... Quote Link to post

Nicepix 5,650
Of course, what are you going to do if/when you catch him or her?? Do tell If it is like last time he'll dump fifty quid's worth of manure on the guy's drive in retribution for losing twenty quid's worth of traps. 2 Quote Link to post
