Next Season

Hi all,

Hope all is well.

I joined the forum at the start of the year while doing some searching around online for more information on BoPs. Basic story is ive wanted one for a long time and have begun to seriously start to try and increase my knowledge. Ive been recommended some great books by guys on here and have read these. But obviously this doesn't give you any practical experience.

Therefore I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any practical experience next season please? I know people are often reluctant to do this but I am willing to put in plenty of time before I would consider getting a bird and therefore wouldn't ask for much, just the odd session out flying, even if not hunting, or tagging along if someone is doing training flights etc. I'm more than happy to help out with things too, I wouldn't want to be a deadweight!

Anyway, I'm in Southampton most of the time but home for me is Kent, If anyone is relatively close to either of these (Obviously I'm happy to travel too) and would consider helping please comment or drop me a message.

Thanks,

Matt

It's not me but I know there's a couple of blokes down my way nr the channel tunnel. They drive a freelander and the spare wheel case a picture of a Bird of prey on it I think it's north down hawking. When I'm in town next il stop round there and get the phone number. It's Gota be worth a try?

Tried eagle heights? Eynsford. Or theres a bloke in cudham no sure of name but he gave chris evans a lesson

I live just round the corner from eagle heights but literally only thought of it yesterday! I'll drop them and email and see but im not sure whether they would want either someone working for them or whether they'd say to go on their paid days out, which obviously im trying to avoid- think they are more a birthday present than something to use regularly to gain experience?!

but hopefully someone there flys locally and would take me out!

Oh nice, whats Chris' user name or contact details please? would be good to find that out?

Rare breeds woodchurch do birds of prey!!

I've really fancied getting a Harris hawk, but like you don't really want to lay out shit loads of dosh to learn ya craft. I'd much prefer going out with someone

Atb

awesome i will look into that too thanks, and yes exactly, especially when they charge so much at these centres. I think its nice for a day trip for the family or something, but wouldnt be all that useful for gaining practical experience before getting a bird
