Cedric 132
Some time ago I saw a post on here recommending a guy on E-bay for batteries. Anyone know who it is ?
IanB 0
Are you after 18650 batteries Cedric, just do a search for panasonic 18650 on ebay.
Cedric 132
Thanks Ian, I can find plenty, just though I'd try one that was recommended. Yeah, the nights are getting warmer, need to stock up.
hutchey 147
Torchy the battery boy
Tremo 138
I've got plenty of the shorter 18650 ones, but I could do with a few of the protected longer ones myself (same length as the Nightmaster ones.) Which ones are you after Cedric?
Cedric 132
The one that came out of the torch is 65mm long (think it was an Ultrafire or similar). I've seen the protected ones but don't know if I need 'protected' or not. I wasn't planning on getting rechargable so does it matter?
reaper1064 285
Protected are a safer bet mate, they stop from over charging and deep discharged. You say you don't want rechargeable, why is that. Take the hit on spending a little more money and your not forever buying batteries. I have bought two sets so one is always in reserve.
patterdale 673
Go for the rechargeable and push the boat out and buy some Nitecore from Nitecore UK. I know they're about £10 per battery but you'll never need another battery and buy one of their intelli chargers also best investment I've ever made.
Cedric 132
Thanks for the advice, I'll have a look at the rechargeables.
reaper1064 285
I have these, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181734537382?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They are supposed to be protected, but I found out that they were slightly shorter than the Nightmaster protected ones when I tried to use two of them together with the NM800 extension tube. You could here them moving around inside the torch body. I've been meaning to pick up two more NM ones, but if the ones recommended by reaper1064 are the same length then I'm happy to save myself the tenner.
Cedric 132
Those recommended by reaper seem to be the thing. XTAR are supposed to be a good make. Apparently there are quite a few fake Ultrafire's about.
reaper1064 285
Be aware of any battery with fire in the title, it's not there by accident.
IanB 0
Try these Panasonic http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_sop=15&LH_BIN=1&_nkw=panasonic+18650&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=
