I used to use dt for everything but all my lines bar one are wf now . If you do get a dt you can turn it round when one end gets worn or do what some people do and cut it in half for 2 lines

Each has it's merits, but for me presentation is paramount so double taper for me for trout fishing. That said, for sea trout night fishing I nearly always used a wf intermediate line.

I used to be the same , dt for all my trout fishing but earlier this year I got some new Rio lines and a snowbee thistledown and while I'm not that impressed with the rios the snowbee thistledown is brilliant. It's so thin it lands and lifts off with barely a ripple yet with one or two false casts It will cast as far as you need it to and with the silk furled leader I use it turns my drys over perfectly even using longish 2lb tippets .
