MickyB 327
The SNP shouldn't get involved Scottish hunting laws are different to England and Wales, I said it before I wouldn't put it past the Tories to make compromise and send lurcher and terrier work down the river Quote Link to post

LolTrue, I think the best way looking at it is labour are not in power, at least its not going to get harder for working dogs. the days of us digging where we want are long gone we've all got to come to terms with that . In the bigger picture terrier work fared better than most hunting field sports considering its one of the most misunderstood . They only moved the goal posts and we still carry on hunting ! Onlyworkmatters 1,584
As much as I would like to see a FULL repeal of the hunting act I fear it would destroy fieldsports involving terriers and lurchers FOREVER, can you imagine the images and damning text that would be all over this site, facebook ect if everything we had in the past was 100% legal, Im sorry but some of the fuckwits involved in our sport these days would have EVERYTHING banned within 5 yrs. 3 Quote Link to post
Long slip77 9
SNP have said they will abstain from voting on any laws that only involve England and Wales Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
. Cameron stated there would be time for a free vote to repeal the hunting act.If there is any chance at all, and I mean the slightest chance, of the repeal being rejected then the vote should not be put forward. Just think of the headlines if a conservative government couldn't get the ban lifted. Edited May 9, 2015 by jessdale 1 Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,485
Well I hope they do. I have been voting Tory since I was old enough to vote (a long time) purely to protect all field sports,as an old keeper I worked for at the time said, If you want to keep this lot (meaning our way of life) then you need to vote for the tories.. And if they had been in power we wouldnt be suffering under this degrading ban today.. Quote Link to post

stop.end 4,082
terrier work is the most humane selective and efficient way of dealing with any predator in the UK/ EIRE over the last 200+ years... terrier work has been the most scrutinized under the microscope field craft in history and still came out on top! why? because when done correctly by competent individuals it is the most selective as in target species, the most efficient as in 1 terrier is used to ground and when dug to terrier removed and fox dispatched = humane! as natural as nature its self, as glyn has said.... if anyone has read the burns reports from back in the day....they tried there best...you best believe they did... but even under scientific review...ie..welfare and stress levels of the quarry & terrier.... they seen the sense of logic....there was NO stress levels from terrier or quarry it was the equivilant of any of us going a walk to the shops for milk!. but if folk don't up there game....its only a spit away from going too! it was never terrier work in its natural form that was under threat...its only us who tarnishes our OWN image and keep the fones videos and cameras at home when out, for the men who are trying to get into this tradition...your the future so read up on your laws find the old reports, read the animal health and welfare bills find out what there saying and how there coming at you..... only then terrier work in its correct form will still be the most natural method of fox control for the next 200 years! 4 Quote Link to post
