Brother whippet has fractured her leg only a pup 8 weeks old.. Any one had any exsperience with this pic to follow

Still very young..am not clued up on this but fingers crossed in time it be good as new..

Yeah vet said same just wondered if anyone had it happen and how did the dog perform after ect

The hard bit be keeping a 8 week old pup still to give it time to heal lol..sure it bit fine.lads on here no more than me but do sent look that bad but as I said I no f all..

going by what my vet said a fracture will heal in no time where as a tendon can go on for bloody months

Hope she recovers fully she not happy about being in the cage all the time

Yes, that is the most common fracture in pups. Heals very well and fast, just make sure that the bone doesn't get displaced while it is healing: cage, tiny walks on lead. It's horrible keeping a pup in a cage all the time, but they do get used to it: make sure it has plenty to occupy it in the cage: nice big bones to chew on: not the sort it can swallow.

Fracture fully healed now back to training didn't think she would heal so fast

Back to training? She's about 12 wks, the only training she needs is housetraining and a couple of short walks etc to empty herself, and some manners/socialising etc. Don't listen to some of the rubbish about exercise etc for pups you read on here. Nice pup

Training I mean basic commands getting her clean in the house and little bit of retrieve every other day Thanks
