slip lead 862
Blue/Green algae is no joke, kill you and ya dogs if you drank it, never never let your dog swim/ drink if it is present in any lake or river. Quote Link to post
BlackStreak 498
Surely if it's the green algae that's bad for your dog, it's not the same green algae we have in the south in the US. Everyones water buckets have algae on the sides unless they but a little bleach in the water. I put apple cidar vinegar in my water to help prevent it instead of bleach like a lot of people do here. I've not heard of a problem here with green algae making dogs sick that were otherwise healthy. I'm not saying it is so but maybe if your are referring to an isolated case in your area, I would figure a bacteria of some sort in the water made the dog sick rather than the algae if the dog was otherwise healthy. Think of all the wildlife that drink from the pools such as the one in the picture. Kinda makes me lean toward another suspect other than the algae. If it's same green algae we have around me. Occasionally blooms produce toxins and then it’s bad stuff. http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/blue-green-algae/ Quote Link to post

Taylor1987 1
Just wondering what everyone on here does fitness wise with there dogs when you don't hunt them. I just road walk mine and stick them on the lure if the ground isn't too hard, and when I can let him have a run around the fields. But other than that I let mine rest and recover from the season. Do you lot do anything in particular? Or have any advice for me as I have only been running my dog for the last 2 seasons. Quote Link to post
Taylor1987 1
Depending on your grounds I like to keep mine ticking over the odd night on lamp lure work plenty road walking or bike and lead goes well to get a good pace then when season starts you have not got as much hard work to put in keep smashing Quote Link to post
