MoChara 1,632
Well went out yesterday and found a really odd egg, it was almost white and all my white layers were not out at the time. So yeah it was a cream white, had hard lumps nearly like calcium deposits all over the small end with a hole right into shell, tipped it up to see if it was a peck hole but it wasn't nothing run out. No feed changes and none before or since. I'll get a picture later of it as I forgot So now I thought oh let's start a thread see what odd ones you've seen/found.?? I also had a soft shelled one last year, was rank So come on share folks
peterhunter86 8,627
Not a chicken egg but when I kept pigeons I had one that always layed eggs with no shell just the skin
MoChara 1,632
It's really weird looking ain't it peter lol gives me the creeps a bit
peterhunter86 8,627
Yeh and it was weird to hold. I had a few hens a few year's ago and one had an egg about two and a half times the size of a normal egg it was a whopper
Neal 1,873
Like Peter, I've had a bantam egg which I presume was shell-less as it looked like a gigantic piece of jelly. Had a long thin one once and a chalky textured one with lots of lumps and bumps like the surface of the moon.
MoChara 1,632
That's the way this one is Neal, like the moon, good explanation that!
Neal 1,873
I think the colour is the last part to be "added" so if you get to an egg quickly enough you can actually rub some of the colour off...only managed it once myself.
