mad4it 695
ive got given two ash forks by someone who knows i want to make a catapult so the question is ash any good for making a catapult, my thinking is yes as they use to make car chassis and horse drawn wagons with it so it should be ok to make catapults. So what do you lads and lasses think.

jonnie bravo 572
Aye makes lovely natural forks. Nice and easy to work with, simple, knot free grain. Bit of sandpaper and danish oil brings them out nicely

1Wally 204
One of the best woods to manipulate too. Steam it for a while and Ash can be easily reshaped. It's never gonna have a grain like Yew etc but you can't beat it to make a perfect traditional natural.
