OTC .. check out the Fuji Finepix S9600. This is what I use for all my magazine stuff, It's a digital with manual zoom function. Idiot proof. (I'm the idiot and I'm the proof!).

£250 - ish. Shop around. My 1Gb card gets about 250 shots on highest resolution.

I have a superb collection of wildlife pics from this but it's cheap enough to throw in my gamebag and not worry about too much TLC.

I am a frequent buyer on eBay to feed my trap collecting habit, but I am a little wary of that seller with such a massive amount of feedback (and so many negatives in the last month alone!) but it shows that the deals are out there.

 

I am set on an EOS 400D now, I might just wait until after Xmas and see what the sales bring - there's no rush.

im thinking of getting the 400d aswell and will probabley wait till january sales.what is the best lens in your opinion for lurcher work and what other accesories would you reccomend.THE BIG FISH have you tried taking action pics of the dogs on the lamp.

Canon 400D is a cracking camera i have used it for a while now and never had any problems and it is one of the things i will never ever get rid of unless i was getting a updated model,
