The Gal Done Good.

Recommended Posts

In the course of doing some work I happened upon a rabbit. Stalking up it legged it into the nettles. Noting point of disappearance I laid up alongside the nettles. After half an hour it stuck it's head out. I decided to let it have something to remember me by, remember briefly that is.

It decided to oblige by lying down and bleeding profusely.

Picking it up by the hind legs I started back and noted a kit. Laying the other rabbit down I managed to get a line on it and bun 2 was sent to the Elysian fields. Getting back to the seat where I had left my bag, I sat after placing the rabbits down. In front of the laurel mound I noticed some movement. Well blast me sideways if it was not another nice sized rabbit out for a graze. Lifting the gun up I got a shot off. Another rabbit rolled over, this one kicked then rested.

So three rabbits. Not so bad. I waited in the trees and a lone bird landed straight above me. That was sent to earth. Then one landed in a tree 25 metres away and high up. I managed to pick a shot through the trees and added that to the bag! Makings of a couple of nice dinners methinks.

Spot on.

Without being rude, I'm not sure I'm a fan of the 'old western' looking rifles. I don't know why, just pref perhaps. It clearly is no slouch though.

She is a .177, 16 shot magazines. I agree, they do look nicer than the 3 and 4,(the synthetic stocked ones).

But the big question, is it better than the at44?

looks better ( in wood) quit fancied the bt65 but think the gal may take the vote.

It is better than the AT in some ways and worse in others.

It is a damned long gun, especially with a silencer on.

You get 80 usable shots per charge (94 in mine).

The extra shots mean you are not constantly removing the magazine and you do have a magazine carrying slot in the butt.

The safety is not auto so no constant thumb flicking when firing lots of shots (ie at the range or when chronoing).

It is aimed more at the BSA Scorpion/AA S410 part of the market than the AT (which is Ultra or S200 aimed).

Same trigger though, but on the Galatian it is gold plated a la Daystate limited edition...

Nicely balanced though a tad heavy at nearly 9lbs (4kg).

The stock is multi adjustable for cheek height, reach and the butt pad is adjustable too.

Still no indexing mark on the magazine, wet and dry and Humbrol fixes that though!

I had a synthetic shrouded but was not so happy with the stock (I do prefer Walnut), we sold that to get this one. We also changed calibre, got this in ,177, got an AT44 .22 as the bad weather .22 PCP.
