There are certainly more moles about this year than in the last couple of years. Whether it is good or bad depends on your situation. Loads of jobs coming in, but more difficult to get them finished within the three visits. The second litters of the year are hitting the gardens right now so there are loads of re-infestations.

I cleared out my place (2 acres) , it's only been clear a few weeks the bast#rds are back in 4 places ! Got one in the veg patch I'll could fcuking swing for him ....really soft earth he is going at a pace to see if he can wreck the whole patch .

No Bryn,....

On some of the cheaper Talpex 'Look-a-likes',...the trigger plate is often extremely variable...

There seems to be very little, quality control,...and a few are set realy high ,...so, I give them a wee tweak.

The genuine Dutch job is different,.. I don't bother bending the plate down,...I just get them set at the correct level.

Folk get a wee bit upset at having to 'play around' with traps, but this is not a new thing....

I have often adapted my Conibears, plus other styles of vermin trap, to fit in with any given situation...

Getting the best out of a trap, is part and parcel of the trapping game.

Totally agree Phil. All my Flatpacks get bent, filed and squeezed until they are performing just how I want them to do. The Talpex also get some filing before they go in my box and with Putanges I tie the trigger onto the trap so as it cannot fold forward when placing the trap in a tunnel. A little time spent getting traps right at the start saves a lot of time and grief later on.

I'll be bringing some Putanges over in November and leaving them with my Brother-in-Law to flog on eBay. I'll give you all the heads up when they are ready for sale.
