pepper 45 55
what do you think of them? i'v seen them a few times but never used them. Quote Link to post
random 659
Never used them but thought they offer slightly better penetration as they are a harder material than lead? Also think I read the Americans are funny about hunting with lead in places so these are a "solution"?? Quote Link to post
random 659
Just thought while walking the dogs, would they mould to the rifling as well as lead, being tougher? Quote Link to post
Adrian Kenny 64
I am using the htt power things.. Posted a couple of things and no one said anything.. My 77k likes em.. Good penetration for a light pellet, I can't dig them out of a tree at 45 yrds Quote Link to post
Adrian Kenny 64
By no means a scientific test.. Forgot my targets when I went to the range so messed outside hope to try them again soon.. Sounds stupid but I like the colour and I wonder will they not be as affected by rust? Quote Link to post
pepper 45 55
copper don't rust mate nor lead. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
They are just copper coated, rather than copper jacketed like a proper bullet, so in essence they are lead, so they would be no use where lead was banned, in the same way that, copper coated lead shotgun pellets are not permitted where none toxic shot should be used in the UK, I personally think they are a gimmick, and dont forget you will get a build up of copper in the bore, as with a cf rifle, pure copper bullets are available to re-loaders, and are meant to be very effective, so perhaps we will see pure copper airgun pellets being produced in the future. pepper 45 55
pure copper pellets would be £50 a tin lol Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
I doubt it as centerfire copper bullets are not hugely more expensive than lead jacketed, probably be double or something similar. Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
Would they wear down your barrel a lot quicker than lead? Quote Link to post
pepper 45 55
they'd be harder that's for sure! Quote Link to post
Adrian Kenny 64
copper don't rust mate nor lead. I should know this.. Thanks bud! 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
They might be good at killing trees though, instead of copper nails 3 Quote Link to post
