krawnden 1,036
There seem to be quite a few spaniel x terrier crosses about, with some cracking looking examples on here. I only remember seeing pictures of half crosses or three quarter spaniel quarter terrier. I've never seen any in the flesh and am interested to know more about them. What do you think a three quarter bred offers that a full cocker doesn't? Also, do any of you have three quarter terrier, quarter spaniel? If so, how do you rate them , and can you put up any pics? 3 Quote Link to post

krawnden 1,036
Joe, I can see the obvious differences between a half cross and a cocker. But from the photos and videos I've seen of three quarter spaniels they seem very much more like the spaniel. So I'm interested to know in what way they differ from a full spaniel. Also because my busher is three quarter terrier - and I'm very pleased with her - I'm also interested to hear comments from anybody with a three quarter terrier, quarter spaniel... Quote Link to post
desertdog 149
Been thinking about these x, for sometime myself, what about the beagle x terrier, do you think a spaniel x would be more biddable, not so independent ? Quote Link to post

squab 2,875
Iv found terrier blood can give that extra bit fire thats needed if they come across something that may be reluctant to break from cover. Quote Link to post

krawnden 1,036
Thanks for the replies - all makes sense. wi11ow - d'you prefer the three quarter breds to the half cross? In what way do they differ? Quote Link to post
wi11ow 2,657
I've found the half x comes on slower and is a lot steadier but the 3/4 is up and running at a year old and for Ferreting they slow down the second season but there the ones I've had and when the 3/4 is to be bred from I would use a terrier Don't need any more Spaniel in her but that just me 1 Quote Link to post
