dare 1,103
I pay 40 a week n buy all my own food as im the only one who cant eat gluten. Would probably be more if i was out getting wasted every weekend but they know im saving. I also "lend"quite a few quid from time to time and wouldnt dream of asking for it back lol. Wont get a 1bedroom around here for less than 700 a month so cant complain. No doubt cheaper if get a council place but not gonna get f**k all being a single bloke. Have a few kids and get a drug problem n youll jump the que though lol. My brothers had a touch got with a bird whos dad owns a few properties. His daughters in a flat he owns and my brothers moved in. He asked about rent and her dad said he wont charge em anything just keep an eye on the neighbours. If you dont need the money yourself i think what some have said on here is a wicked idea. Put the money away for him without him knowing.
jonnie bravo 572
If you want him to become independent and learn the value of money then £50-60 will be about right! It will be the cheapest rent he ever pays. Whatever is left from covering his costs you can save for him in the future for important stuff like driving license etc

socks 32,253
The thing is we are not discussing a 16 or 17 year old child ... He is a 22 year old man and if he can't understand he has to pay his way in life then he has a lot to learn ..........

Astanley 11,580
The fact that at 22 he thinks he shouldn't pay keep to his mam tells me you have already indulged him too much ,he should be happy to help his family out , it sounds like hes a bit spoiled and selfish to me ,
zx12edge 1,001
I reckon if they are working they pay there way.my lad pays £300 a month. He moved out for a few months but soon came back with his tale between his legs begging to go back to is old arrangement. My other two have their own homes. To me if you give them everything your not setting them up to cope on there own.
