sussex 5,802
£60 a week sounds cheap to me ... My old mother used to take £2 out of my £6 apprentice wages , when I got a £1 rise I made the mistake of telling her , another half a quid lost . Used to keep any raise a bit quite after that ..
BGD 6,437
Seems fair to me i carnt believe the amount of young lads i have worked with who dont pay board despite being in their twentys some of them its another sighn of how times have changed as everybody i knew 40 years ago that was the first thing they did when getting paid was cough up your board to your mother. Waiting at the end of the garden path with her hand out on pay day

CraignTod 278
60 a week! He only said board, not food and laundry... Food alone would cost half of that
Born Hunter 17,837
When I was his age I had just got a full time job in a decent career. I think my folks charged me 100 quid a month, which was f**k all, probably wouldn't have covered what I ate. I was saving very hard to move out and they knew that so just asked for what they felt was fair.
