Live Rabbits

Hi guys

I was asked by a friend if I could get any live rabbits for him but my ferreting spot has been poached and dug out all the warrens also is it legal to introduce them to a new habitat so they can bread to be shot I thought I would ask on here

It his own land would that make it legal think he was on about making a his own little business by charging people to come shoot on

 

If it's on land you own surely it's no different to releasing game birds on shoots? :hmm:

 

Something you'd want to ask someone in the know about, could try giving DEFRA a call?

You are definitely not allowed to release a pest species. Just dont get caught

I can't do it anyway. my ferret perm got done over by some poachers dug the lot up and can't get any as my other perms are shoot only

Aye its no legal to release rabbits so why does the rspca do it and no body says a word ?. it can be done but why theres a reason theres no rabbits theres the grounds no right , its being poached , or disease wiped them out

That's it exactly, I have a couple of fields within a minutes walk of my house that 20 years ago were loaded with rabbits, now they flood big time most years so no hope. If it was a case of good land that had been wiped out by mixy I might be tempted to give it a go.

 

 

If you do decide to go for it bigad just do it discreetly.

Ive got a couple of small holdings at the rear of a sspca rescue and i snare the fence lines the head inspector walks there fields with her alsations but theres nothing she can do as they know as well as i do thats where they let there rescued animals go on and it causes trouble to there neighbours , So one year there burrows go cleaned out but there repopulate them and they seem to be able to hold rabbits
