Does anyone know if there is a granular weed killer, that I can put on the ground, that won't kill crop, sprayed earlier with roundup, did trick, but it takes me a day hoeing,

Comes with the territory I'm afraid. Little and often is the best way keeps the weeds down and not too boring.

I've sorted it, little and often is not enough, I have 1/4 acre, bit like painting seven bridge, time you started one end,and finished, time to start agin, finished planting up got rabbit fence up, weeds should be easier to control, had some good advice from farming friend.

Desertdog. Don't in any way want to be patronising  Got a huge allotment and if I say so myself it's pretty much weed free. 2 things. My old man said that if you didn't put it in the ground then there's no point in it being there. It's a weed. Pull it out. He also taught me the idea that if you cover your ground with next years muck (we lived on a farm) it makes weeding so much easier in as much as the buggers have to force there through and therefore are spindly. A lot of the guys in our allotments wondered how I managed to keep it so clean having a hell of a work schedule. Well that is the only 2 rules I stick with. :bye:

Have to agree with jok , get your soil right and mulch well in late autumn . Compost compost compost lol , after a couple of years of good management will be a doddle , a hoes only good when your soils good and light , plenty of spade and fork work ,
