The Farms On The Up / And Its Back

Recommended Posts

Gave Vis a shout last night and a time was set so i picked him up and off we went just the two of us again now the other day i was there and there was loads of kits about and a fair few big rabbits to

now last night loads of kits but only a few adults Sean got three and i got one now the farm is on the up but its back MIXIE im fecking fecked off the one Sean got had it no eyes

now he got his from one side of the farm and on my walk down the long walk (as we call it ) i came across a kit but some thing was a miss with it it did not look right just some thing about the way it was hopping around so i looked through the scope and yes its down the long walk to ,its eye was fecked and it looked like it had blood on its face as if it had been scratching its eye ,

so i took aim and fired but all there was ,was a loud bang the bolt had some how moved back when i had it on my shoulder so it ran off i will be back to take it down as its a horrible way to die

so two diffarent parts of the farm that have mixie

iv not got any photos but Sean has one of his so he will probs put it up

Apart from the mixy he was a good sized old buck with a head like a bulldog.

I didn't see him at first until I took his mate first. 100yd with the rimmy. Old myxi napper tried to make a run for it and ended up head planting the wall.

Myxi is fooking horrible.

Hopefully they will be back soon.

We were hit hard early last autumn but thankfully now they are back in fairly strong numbers, I think that the reason for that round here is that we have many small fields and brooks that split up the various communities of rabbits and they use the hedgerows to seek out new territories when their own populations increase.

Maybe one saving grace in your particular instant is that rabbits will be spending more time above ground staying in thick cover and so less likely to pass on the disease via the fleas through close contact down the burrows. Also leave some of the ones with mixy that may survive to hopefully pass on survival genes to their future offspring.

My perm has very little kicking about, the land owner gassed them all couple years back. But I've been up a few time recently and only seen a hand full of rabbits but a couple had mixy too!! What with all the dog walkers and horse riders there hardly anything about any way. Now mixy too!

Time to get out and find another perm I think.

Bloody horrible thing it is mate been fairly lucky down here touch wood there was a bit local but we've hope fully got it controlled last year as we've not seen any since a few lads totally killed of the one area we had it so hope fully that done the trick for now but I'm sure it will rise it head again as we can obviously never control it fully ?
