jmilam08 193
Alrite lads any one no if there's any difference in the granting of fac and sgc? Had shotguns a few years now and want move onto fac but did have a bit of previous and was granted it. I no it depends on the individual and circumstance and all that but was wondering if fav was a lot stricter of a ticket to be granted. Cheers Jake Quote Link to post
goldfinger 135
Just be honest on application, yes there a bit more particular with fac and you need two referees to vouch for your character, most people worry about being refused but i'm sure if they granted you shotgun then you should ok with fac application provided that you have good reason to own a rifle and have the land and permission to shoot on, and it has been passed for that calibre rifle you are acquiring, good luck. 1 Quote Link to post

The sgc sailed through but problem is Iv forgotten most of what I put down now in the box. Anyone know of any ways I can get a background type check done so I can fill out form properly without sounding like I'm hiding things? Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
You can do a "Subject Access" request with your local force about your convictions. I think it's about £10. Either that or request a CRB check from the ACRO. If you chuck them into Google you'll find what you need. Quote Link to post

gpreen 6
theres a thing called "disclosure Scotland" you can pay a fee and run a background check. This is the same as a crb but you get the results i had to provide one to work at a customers site. Hope this helps Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Bit late now, but always keep a photocopy. I photocopy every single application / renewal. That way I know what I've put. It also makes filling out the renewal easier as provided nothing has changed, you can copy your answers from the previous renewal. If the wording was accepted once, you shouldn't have any trouble with the same force using the same wording again. Quote Link to post
