Chances are it will keep happening as the scar tissue won't stretch like normal tissue and skin: the skin beneath the stopper is under incredible strain when the dog runs and places its foot on the ground: lot of flexion in that area. You may be better off getting the stopper pad permanently removed at the vet. Then protect the area when running with a piece of soft rubber taped over the area.

Use some vet wrap round them when ground is hard... Help em heal and protect them.

I've tried stopper pad protectors but wasn't impressed with them, then used vet wrap which you can buy from pound shops or eBay...

This happened to fly, ripped in half and hanging off. So I snipped it off, cleaned and dusted It with wound pounder. It healed well and I never had problems with it since. Give it time to heal and harden. Try exercising the dog on a beach.

Don't think Al be Stanley bladding it just gona see if it heals longer and naturally

I wouldn't fancy cutting it with a stanley either, 2 hands are better than 1  . Its in an awkward place that wound j. Just hope you don't wait and it happens again mate.

Just reading what Tjones says there j and he found the only way is removing. Just hope your not putting off the inevitable mate.
