budgie123 163
There is a research project into bed bugs and bed bug treatments which I think is being led by Clive Boase and one aspect they are looking into is who effective all currently available insecticides are in relation to bed bug treatments. The only issue to get any information you have to subscribe at a cost of 70 pounds. If this research is done it will be beneficial to all the industry as I personally think some of the claims made about certain insecticides are not correct or the insecticides do not give the same efficacy in practicle situations. I only hope this research is not clouded by the manufacturers of these insecticide purley from a commercial basis. Quote Link to post
Nomad65 0
hi, I mainly use ficam for most things as it has had the best results for me out of all the brands ive tried over the years.. every now and then ill use a gel but not very often.. bed bugs ill try and use the steamer if I can but ive still had the best results with ficam... I think its important to know how to use it not just SPRAY AND PRAY..... A little training goes a long way,, Roy Quote Link to post
DIDO.1 22,845
I'm amazed if you have good results with ficam with ants if you can't find the nest. I would think it would only kill workers and even act as a repellant but not wipe out a well established nest that you can't find directly. No need for a thl argument :-) I just find a few drops of gel has completely changed my ant control with tiny amounts of recalls. It's amazing how people swear by different products...I think if you get call backs the first time you use a product you will never like it... Quote Link to post
Nomad65 0
Ha ha, no that's an argument I've had a few times.. I do use other stuff like permost/somi but I still use more ficam than anything else.. I think I did a couple of hundred any jobs last season and only ha around 5 retreats apart from one that took 4 treatments... Roy Quote Link to post

Ive joined a few pest forums over there and the information is free... the only negative thing is we don't have such a wide choice of chems as them but the biological information is some of the best ive found..
