Just joined the site, recommended by a mate. I bought a Patterdale (now 8 months old) as I live on a Farm with Vermin galore and needed a working dog to keep it down a bit!!!

He' s doing ok, very keen and had a few Rats he's dug out him self. Looking forward to getting info and advise from the experts on how to bring the dog on.

The Parents are working dogs and I am going to contact the owners to ask if my dog can go out with them to gain experience as well as myself of course.

Cheers

jono

Good day fellow terrier owners.

newbie to the site so will give a little background.

Kept working terriers over twenty years ago, russells ,and lakies. Russells from same origional stock as Jock Reids in Fife in the early days and lakies from Nuttal,Middleton and Cowan. (Pretty sure my mate and i had the first genuine lakies in this part of Scotland from these lines)

Anyway worked a few foxes, loved the ratting but left over 15 yrs ago.

Now got a couple of russells who can trace lines back to that origional stock, half brothers with the newbie being born after docking rules so has long rudder-you really do get used to it after a while.
