Bollox it doesnt drip! Ive got one in my rat cage exactly like that only its held on by suction pads (although it came with the screwy on thing too). Filled it up last night only to watch it all drip away within a matter of minutes. Seriously.

As soon as a little bit of dirt or dust off the animals mouth touches the metal dispenser it chokes it up causing a drip. Had nout but problems with it. Be warned ;)

im gone back to the large heavy ceramic bowl,in the summer the ferts had 4 bottles and they were eating the nozzle literally,so i put in a bowl of water and they drank like they hadnt seen water for days.i came to the conclusion that they couldnt get enough water fro the bottles,so i dumped the lot and reverted back to the bowls.not a problem now do i have.

Done this about 5 years ago aswell for the same reasons,i make sure there's a bit of weight in them so they cant tip them and they are as happy as a pig in shite

The only problem i found with dishes is they scratch the water out of them  even if they cant tip them over , i had to screw a round plastic margerine tub to the floor & stand the dish in the tub to stop them, but they carry on regardless scratching away  i seem to have really naughty ferrets for some reason

Yep mines are the same, mostly in the hotter weather as it helps them cool down i presume but i find a good layer of wood shavings in the floor of your hutch will soak most of it up,aswell as cleaning them out mostly every other day with a new layer of shavings means that its all good

i once saw a design where a bottle was placed upside down in a small troff shaped container & as the water was drunk the level of the water went down aswell... ill try to find it again.

Has anyone got one of these as i cant see how you could fix it to half inch square weldmesh :hmm:

Cut a hole in the wire to put the nozzel through, then you have to do a bit of jigerling about and faster the holder on with a bit of wire as the yellow disk tends to come off and the ferrets love playing with it.

I drilled a 3/4" hole under where I put the bottle on the hutch, problem cured. Before You tell me a hutch is not suitable, they are out playing twice a day, digging like crazy in a un-used glasshouse. My boys love me, I've got the scars to prove it.

I have only ever noticed a problem with dripping bottles, when the wire attaching them to the cage front is too tight, resulting in THE DRIP,

try making something like this, never have drip problems

What i had to do was use cable ties linked together, i made them so the bottles were just snug in the ties , i dont think the wires that come with the bottles are big enough & they do squeeze on the bottle & cause drips from the spout thing
