Waz 4,252
Greville Janner has criticised the Old Bailey jury system for allowing an 86-year-old man to escape being questioned in 1997 over Nazi atrocities that had taken place in 1941 and 1942. Lord Janner criticised justice system for excusing alleged Nazi war criminal who had dementia http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/lord-janner-criticised-justice-system-for-excusing-alleged-nazi-war-criminal-who-had-dementia--but-now-hes-in-the-same-position-10183717.html

Blackbriar 8,569
When frail, wheelchair bound, 91 year old John Demjanjuk was convicted of war crimes, just 4 years ago, Lord Janner said....... "Today's verdict sends an unequivocal message: that the passage of time is no barrier to justice. Age or poor health cannot absolve anyone of appalling crimes and today represents a triumph of justice....." Wonder if he still feels the same way ? BGD 6,436
I find it interesting that he was still taking his seat in the House of Lords right up until these allegations came to light. You telling me he's lost virtually all capacity for speech and all his marbles in the last few months? Or was he passing legislation while totally senile? Convenient dementia seems to plague these upper class criminal types...

MickC 1,825
For somebody that has supposedly got dementia he seems very well adapt at sorting his financial situation out so no victims can make a claim. Joe Public would not be allowed to divvy the estate/wealth out to the family avoiding death duty/taxes etc.
BGD 6,436
So now the judge has decided Janner ISN'T fit to stand trial. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35027705 Course he can still take his seat in the HoL and vote on legislation....
