logan esq 99
Hello gents, I'm looking for some advice. I'm on the look out for a small light weight carbine. I've been looking at the hw99s that has been tuned by sfs also known as the "imp" but i will consider all other rifles, but something along those lines. money is tight just now as i've lost my job. If i was to buy a standard hw99 would it be expensive to shorten the barrel and have a mod fitted? I'm fairly confident in polishing up the internals and fitting a new spring and so forth (if nessersery). Ive also got a hw90k could do the same thing to this? (shorten&mod) cos if i can it would save me some money but its a bit on the heavy side. and its in .22 id prefer .177. think i may sell my pro sport to help this but not sure. any advice would be appreciated atb Edited April 16, 2015 by logan esq 1 Quote Link to post

shepp 2,285
I think the 95 is the best compromise between weight and accuracy. Quote Link to post

Rez 4,961
Ahh. I was looking for an imp to see what all the fuss was about but thought the price tag was a bit to high, unless second hand... for what is basically a standard 99 with a large flake. The ones I've shot are nice mind, but nothing special. Like a cute v-mach job done well. You don't see many come up second hand though, which perhaps says something about them. I ended up getting a Fenman instead. 95 is a banging choice. 1 Quote Link to post
logan esq 99
Yeah leaning more towards the 95 as Blackpool airgun centre are doing one with a vmack kit as standard. It's a bit of a hike to get there for me but a road trip there for the day ain't to bad. Still unsure thou. Atb Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Buy a secondhand 95 and then buy a Vortek kit. Installation is supposed to be quite easy (unless it was like my 77 and seemingly welded together). The 95 carbine is a nice short gun! Edited April 17, 2015 by secretagentmole 1 Quote Link to post
