Nest Boxs

Anyone recommend best type of nest boxs , wood or plastic ? Seen some quailty wooden ones on eBay 6 for 15 pound and Seen some plastic ones which are 5 pound each ..are the wood ones as good as plastic or should I pay out the extra for plastic. Cheers

If its for Canaries mate i found i had to sling them wicker ones after 1 clutch whereas with the plastic ones just clean them and away you go again if your breeding in cages that is...and of course they have a little door so easy access to eggs if your a clumsy f****r like me !.....in an aviary i had the nest felts stitched into the plastic pans but probably too much messing about looking back......wicker for aviary,plastic for cages in my limited experience.

These are for canaries in an svairy .not really looking to breed them but if they do then so be it.so for canaries in an svairy do I just need nest pans ??? Was also thinking about winter time thought a nest box would give that little bit more cover/shelter .cheers

Birds won't need bowls boxes for winter try get some clear perspex to sheet it up or some local election signs on poles or tarp just keep the breeze off them and In snowy conditions you might loose a few think every one has lost some threw the winter atb delboy
