jacknife 2,005
Just been looking at the digital scales Hornady about £60 MTM about £40 Or you can get a jewellery set for £10 that look pretty much the same Are these just as good Quote Link to post
Tremo 138
I'd go for Hornady over MTM. I have a set of RCBS 505s and these are good. The 510s are supposed to be even better. One thing I can say, if you are buying a set of scales then don't buy cheap. Get some quality ones. You need to be able to rely on them. Quote Link to post
kimgary 4
Having worked for Avery Berkel in the past I would like to say that modern digital scales are very accurate, \i use a small one from e-bay about £ 10.00 for measuring curing chemicals for home curing etc, mine reads to 2 decimal places. A handy scale checker is as follows:- 1p = 3.56 grams 2p = 7.12 grams 5p = 3.25 grams 10p = 6.5 grams 20p = 5.00 grams 50p =8.00 grams £1 = 9.5 grams £2 = 12.00 grams always check the calibration for your lowest weight to your highest weight that you are using to ensure the scale is linear. 1 gram = 15.432 grains so with a calculator you should be able to see how accurate they are. Kind Regards Gary. Edited April 18, 2015 by kimgary 1 Quote Link to post
BlackStreak 498
I've noticed that having a cell phone in close proximity to you digital scales will cause it to loose calibration and give you squirting readings. Sometimes the numbers won't ever stop and settle too Quote Link to post
