attilla 0
I wonder if anyone can help me out with a problem I may have in the future. My bull x has a slight hairline fracture of his hock,he will be on the lead for 4 to 6 months. After his recovery and rehab I am worried about his recall. He is 16 months old and I had got his recall up to a pretty decent standard before his injury and now I'm worried once he's allowed back off the lead will his recall be shot to pieces? Has anyone got any tips to keep his recall up to scratch whilst he's stuck on the lead. Many thanks Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
Bone Radiol and he shouldn't be off for that amount of time mate. Unless it's a joint. Quote Link to post
TAXI DRIVER 549
You can still do plenty of recall/obedience training with him in the garden and in the house etc.Good luck. Quote Link to post
terryd 8,646
Mine was the same lead bound for few months but you can still recall even on a short lead it will all help and mine was non the worse. In fact it probably sharpened it up Edited April 13, 2015 by terryd Quote Link to post

attilla 0
Thanks lads, I may just be panicking but it's only been 5 weeks on the lead and seems like he's exploding with energy! If he was let off the lead he'd take off. Thanks for the advice I will carry on with his training while he's injured. Quote Link to post

I kept at mine every night just calling him a couple of feet on lead. When he was eventually let lose he would fly back to me. But it has slipped a bit at the moment as he has found his hunting feet well and truly. I know what you mean about exploding lol I had to literally hold mine down on the floor at times. The time will soon go Quote Link to post
