If so how are they finding it I've looked on the internet it gets a 5 star rating but it's £35 for 10kg, also it's 39% protein isn't this too high for a lurcher? 2504 92
The ingredients are % protein and the remaining 20% veg and fruit, there's no grains. Also been told your dog has tiny turds as more of the food is absorbed!!! Hope so I'm going to give it ago I've been using iams and I'm sure they s--t out as much as they eat!!!
thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,593
I always wonder about this protein malarkey... Isn't meat something like % protein? (Overall) Forgive my stupidity minced beef is usually around 20% protein
skycat 6,174
Don't forget that dry food contains virtually no water, and raw meat contains a lot of water, so if you dried out minced beef the protein content would show one hell of a lot higher.

mushroom 13,303
Ya reckon?? Well I never Thought I was feeding much higher
Gaz_1989 9,539
Ya reckon?? Well I never Thought I was feeding much higher The leanest of lean meat is about 30% protein. That's human grade. Minced chicken carcass is probably 20% at a guess. Fatty beef off cuts are probably 15%. Then you've gotta factor in your veggies and carbs. I would be surprised if the overall protein content is more than 15% protein. I've posted about this before. I feed the same as you. No need for this 28% and 32% dry shit. Dead Eyes 681
Yeah, but the animals don't run on %'s - so 20% protein of 400g of meat makes 80g protein That's the important bit... The macronutrients

Ever heard that a human body is over 70% water? You been up those bloody mountains too long, get to a lower altitude an get some oxygen back into your system!

Correct me if in wrong but I was told what your dog shits out it's not using so if your dog craps a lot your feeds rubbish. A fella I know uses hills science plan and he feeds his sheepdogs a coffee mug a day an he says your lucky if he gets a shit out of them every 2 days and if they arent working hard they will get fat off it. I did use it for a while and thought it was good stuff but it costs an arm and a leg it's ok for him though his wifes a vet so he gets it for cheap.
trenchfoot 4,243
I've fed high protein content food as a base for the last 2 seasons, with game and table scraps added. Mine have done well on it, but if the level is too high they will fart for britain. as the level is too much for them. when out of work they drop back onto something with lower content of protein and fat.
