After A Hard Day

Recommended Posts

Well ,got home at 5.30 after laying 200 concrete blocks , 160 bricks and breaking up concrete , sat down had my dinner and totally cream cracked after a hard day , but it was such a nice evening and I thought I cant just sit down all night watching the idiot box, so jumped up got all my shooting gear in to the van and headed of to the local farm.

I new which field had a problem after speaking to one of the farm workers on Monday , so headed of to the field and set up at 35 yards from the hedge , waited about 5 minuets then the first one came out , pulled the trigger , down it went with out a kick ,the other two came out soon after and same again ,JSB heavies 10.3gr pellet straight in the kill zone .

The one rabbit didn't even had time to finish its tea

Very good shooting!

I have a question as i saw that most of the hunting is done over night - during the daytime the bunnies are hidden in their holes or is just very hard to approach them (asking this as we hunt jackrabbits commonly during the daytime) ?

All the best,

Bogdan

Daytime rabbiting is good sport mate, and they certainly do come out, but the vast majority will come out at night, so many people choose to shoot them with a lamp or night vision, are your Jackrabbits what we call hares, or are they living in burrows?

Ok understood the idea here ;)

Indeed our jackrabbits are the hares and they usually live in the field not in burrows - we are only allowed to shoot them durin daytime and with nothing more or less than a shotgun (unfortunately as the poaching is a national sport in here they are almost extincted with airguns, traps, hounds, rifles - i suppose that the next step will be the machinegun  ); Related to this i admire your responsible style of hunting in the UK.

All the best friends!

The deer population is still high only in the Private areas - in the "state" parts thay are also hunted to extinction (usually with hounds).

15 years ago there were so many game animals that you couldn't imagine - Carpatian deers (that are huge in size - sometimes they are almost like a cow :D ), wild boars very big also (the biggest i harvested was near 300 kg) lots of brown bears (which are still in place - i suppose that this is because they are not very tasty ) and others.

All the best,

Bogdan

Are them 10.34's any good in your 100?

Using them in the Fenman, but dont want to fire one through the 100 and have to coat the barrel again with Fields.

Im guessing you took your 100... you may not have done.
