a fast powerful coursing bred they won’t be nothing in it on lead up and real wet land the coursing bred will put the first bend in 

one the fastest dogs i have ever seen was a deerhound grey it swollowed up the land could reel em in from huge slips but it just never slowed up or learnt to use the speed properly

Dog races aren’t ran on wet arable fields though so your argument makes no sense. A greyhound is much faster than a pure saluki or else the country would’ve been full of saluki racing tracks

with a greyhound it will be infront of the coursing bred but not by a lot for 500 yards or so then coursing bred leaves it 

but seen as we live in england and it’s wet 3/4 of the year and 5 months of the hunting season it’s a none starter ain’t it 

mans the coursing bred run all day night and multiple times a week which whippet or grey can’t do and are 20 times more hardy then a grey or whippet

And the Arabs wouldn’t have cheated at their saluki racing by adding greyhound blood. They now DNA test them to ensure there’s no greyhound blood in them.

in greyhound racing a fraction of a second counts a length of is massive and i hunt i don’t race mate so it makes a huge difference to me

No one is saying that the saluki/greyhound hybrid coursing dog isn’t the best daytime hare dog….it is !

But in terms of all out speed and sprinting it isn’t. 
Claiming that a coursing bred would lead up a whippet or greyhound is nonsense.

Ive timed and handicapped whippets, greyhounds and lurchers, I’ve had money match races, I’ve won and lost. A whippet is the fastest over the short sprint distance, the greyhound is faster than the whippet over, say, 250 yards , and faster over the saluki up to the marathon distances, say 1,000 yards the the saluki/coursing bred come into their own. 
Forget wet, slop, arable etc, I’m simply talking about speed.

Of course these are just MY opinions based on my experiences.

That greyhound race that Moll posted was over 755 metres., do you honestly believe a coursing bred would have won that ?

Yeah I still go to the races, I’ll let you know when there is an Open Meeting on at Wallsend which is near me, and you can come up and we will go. I could probably arrange a run between one of your dogs and a whippet with an independent judge and timer.

i recon it would be chewing up the ground after the second bend mate 26tts muscled and as powerful as the grey if not more 

sort it april may time mate i’ll pop up
