I've got a bitch here that yaps and bays all the way around until she hits here game, once she's working up close she's all but mute............does this mean she's frightened of the dark ?

No mate, it means she's anticipating the battle, and when she gets close she concentrates, she just can't control the anticipation of the battle, a keen thinker, fairly rare and worth breeding from imo.

to be fair fb i think fatman is more educated than most and going by his posts more than likely digs more than most so i could say he knows his dogs traits digging wise unlike you who sounds has cl

Some would say nervy some would say clever , personally I like a dog that can be hard in certain situations and know when to be sensible in others. Baying or mute on whatever as long as it was there w

I reckon it was more respect for the game that was in front of it,thats why it was baying.

How do you know when your behind him I got a job to get behind my wife in the dark

Knowledge of the earths we work him in and the use of the locater, its not rocket science,as for you and your missus, well thats your problem.

If a quarry is found not far from an entrance and dog bayed on its tail to a stop ,which should be obvious from initial contact ,then i guess its ok but for a dog to bay whilst searching dry on a mark must be frustrating . Not seen it yet but i think i may question the reason IMO .

Just my opinion FD, but this is not a fault at all, if, the earths occupied, and the bitch stays to the end, it shows she's keen to "get there" and if she stays 100%, she wants to be there, hence the yipping, in anticipation of the battle if she then goes mute?

Fb your wasting your time and energy taking on board anything these guys say I'm embarrassed to say I'm Irish listening to anything him or that Cooney say they read to many books or in another certain person case he wants to be in another few books. This wee trio have made some great posts one had a 10 inch 10 pound terrier never been shifted in its digging days one pit every time and the other had a dog that had ninety hard digs in a season lol the other prat he can put his hand up a hole blind and pull out a fox and reckons if you can't do this your not fit to keep a terrier .
