scouse 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Share Posted November 8, 2007 i've a 18 mth jack russell . any tips on introducing the dog to ferrets?? is is too late ? i'm thinking of keep him on lead in the garden and let the ferret on floor and give them both a chance to suss each other ??? and see how it goes . any sugggestions ?? cheers Quote Link to post

But its as though if she knows its mine its hands off. She doesn't like dogs but i could leave her with my 9 week old pup all day and night with out worry, same with my 13 month old one too. Now im not sure i could do this with the ferrets but if im there she will keep her distance. I think if they know your the boss and thats the ferret belongs to the boss then the will respect that. Btw my staff is coming upto four and was just turned three when introduced to ferrets. Snapped for them once and never again. Now she wants to play with them, but shes a little ruff so have to keep her a fair distance away lol Good luck mate Quote Link to post
lurcherchavvy 3 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Share Posted November 8, 2007 nah it aint too late i introduced my dog about the same age and he never went no where near them cause he knew what he would get what i did i held my feret and let the dog see it and see that i did't want i dead and then did this a few times and then put it on the floor and the dog seemed fine with them never had any trouble. all you gotta do is let them see each other but if you dont bother you mite come home to a dead feret one day all the best Quote Link to post
