most of the wheaten blood in lurchers are so diluted with other breeds that they get a bad name in most people's eyes. But it's the wheaten they blame. A wheaten beddy deerhound collie grey is somehow

Bitch on left

I have buul x grey dog and bull x weaton x grey bitch bitch I think if I had to say the bitch is harder thro cover but both very hard mouthed maybe her a bit more than him and she is more head strong,

All-terrain I'm not doubting he know his wheatens x im just curious in the way each x works. I like bull terriers and been around them a lot and can see what they bring to a lurcher. I have never seen a Wheaten or Wheaten lurcher work but what I've heard and read they have the same mentally as a bull terrier and was just curious if they work in similar ways.

Allan I would say I have found with mine that they are prone to getting too hot which can be an issue, i don't think working wheatons need wind in the same way that a bull would - so stamina would be a difference.

on the plus side, plenty of fire in a good wheaton, more than enough for hunting purposes, good coat, feet and as you would expect draw towards holes so handy for marking.

i plan on sticking to the wheatonx but if i was hunting different land and maybe targetting more of a different quarry i would probably look at bullx

Pure weapon, I can tell by it's ear set that it will be single handed on all game including rhinoceros!!!

You clearly know what you are talking about. Any good dog man knows it's all about the ears. She probably won't see rhinos for a good while yet but hoping to hunt big cats in Europe with her before she is 6 months.

Spindolero so do you think a bull cross would on average would have more wind than a Wheaton cross? Edited by kevin kiely
