Robie_n 10 Posted April 5, 2015 Report Share Posted April 5, 2015 Hi iv had a bit of bad luck with me dog only 1 season under his belt showing good signs of being a decent grafter then couple of weeks ago smashed into a tree after his quary, long story short both crucia ligerments f***ed had them replaced with bands, good bone man done them at a fair price but says it's unlikely to graft again. bird 9,868 Posted April 5, 2015 Report Share Posted April 5, 2015 yeh had a lurcher x lurcher bitch , had the injury left knee , had the op but never ran again proper she was finished at 4 year old, kept another 10 years as just pet . it a very bad injury mate, not many dogs ever recovery proper from it I don't think . me I get another lurcher and start again , it a hard life for any running dog , a lot never make old bones fact , deff more so if worked proper Quote Link to post

They never run or work properly again, both vets told me this. However I think if they do come back high risk of arthritis and a long time out. Alb mate Quote Link to post

Robie_n 10 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Share Posted April 5, 2015 Thanks lads, I was in 2 minds before the opp for pts but he's a cracking pet lives in the house had him from 6wks, the wife and biern wouldn't speak to us. Only reason I got the opp was the vet said he'd still live a good pet life but not likely to graft again, thought he was gunna have it chopped off yesterday I told the vet to pts if he lost the leg but just fluid build up Quote Link to post

Robie_n 10 Posted April 7, 2015 Author Report Share Posted April 7, 2015 It's hit and miss re recovery but if you have Pactience it can happen We had a young greyhound do it He came back to be a top open/competition greyhound holding Sheffields 720m Tk rec It's a long road to recovery but it can and does happen. Best of Luck glad you said that mate seen the vet again today give us some exercise tips to recovery, he said the dog just needs to re learn how to use his leg it isn't painful just aquard for him. I will put the time and effort into the dog and if he can be brought to working fitness again I'll get him there :-). 2 Quote Link to post
