Wildling 520
Right after having bad experiances with both Jackpike and Deerhunter clothing letting me down I've decided to no longer use those brands. What brand and style do you recommend as replacements. I don't like using camouflage as a rule and tend to use more neutral natral looking colours like dark browns and greens. Any ideas?? pianoman 3,587
I have a green Swedish Army parka for winter shooting and a German Flecktarn parka for summer that does it all for me. Considering that rabbits see in black/white monochrome, I'd go for a comfortable jacket or parka with natural greens or a decent cammo-disruptive pattern ex military jacket. Don't waste good money on "Scientifically designed" Uber Cammo gear costing more than it's worth. Edited April 3, 2015 by pianoman Quote Link to post

moxy 617
What do you mean by let you down? Tore easily? Leaked like a sieve? Zips broke in 2 mins? Too noisy? Quote Link to post
Wildling 520
Basically just shite Moxy, zips busted and tears on the fabric on jackets that are under a year old. Not interested in DPM (camouflage) as stated in my first post. Quote Link to post

Used to use DPM and other ex MOD gear for ages but got fed up with the strange looks you receive from joe public. That's why all my shooting related clothing these days are just plan dark colours that don't look to of place. Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
I use an ex surplus Nato jobby in the winter and a jack pyke leafy thing as of now. Quote Link to post
moxy 617
The sealand stuff is ok. In fact I have 2 keeper jackets that are still going strong after 3 years. They were worn daily for work for well over 12 months but I fancied a change. I wouldn't pay full whack for them. As good as they are. The fabric is fairly silent. Neutral green. Comfy not restricting. Hold their own as far as waterproofness goes. They will take a good soaking. It's more of autumn come winter jacket but ok for a cold summer night. Plenty of pockets internal and external. The hood is shite but that goes for most jackets. I moved over to a rivers west (or sweats as often referred to) field pro smock. The newer version as this has underarm zipped vents. It's a waterproof fleece. Which to be fair has been waterproof so far. It just gets bloody heavy. It's a warm jacket but the vents help it breath. Certainly wind proof. Again, the hoods shite but better than the sealand. Plenty of pockets and the fabric is tough and silent. You can get it in drab green. I wear these jackets almost every day. Not just on a weekend!! And they have seen some stick. Work and play Just a couple of suggestions. Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
Personally I love the yank, m65 woodland cammo stuff, I have it in normal and Gortex the quality is absolutely superb, and it is nearly impossible to wear out, becoming a little hard to get now, but a troll of various sites wil still turn up some bargains.
