How Close Do You Set Your Magnet Up ?

Morning all, how close do you all set your magnet up to the hide ? also, why do magnets only come with a short lead/cable ? i have just made my 15 mtrs long.

I set mine within shooting range as pigeon have been known to "bomb" it , anything from 15 mtrs to 40 mtrs depending on the way the birds react.

Move as you feel to the birds reaction to both rotary and pattern.

I put mine around 18 - 20 yards and up wind slightly pattern slightly down wind so birds hopefully pass in front reel close every situation is different but I never put mine very far out. lead does not mater just put battery outside of rotation cover it if crop is short . atb two crows

I put my battery in a plastic box and sprayed it green , seems to work for me.
