Nik1970 0
i have a pretty new bsa ultra single shot and brand new bottle to fill it. Filled it a number of times no problem with pump, came to fill it with bottle for first time and the gun won't take the air. The bottle is at 300 bar, and gun must be quite low now. It's just pressurizing the lance to 300. Tried cocking gun, o ring seem pristine. Any ideas?? Thanks Nik Quote Link to post
David Aiken 253
Try using the "pump" for a bit. My HW100s will do this if I let it go to low. Regular topping up seams best! Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
you don't want to be going to 300 anyway, 232 is max fill, whats the gauge on the gun reading? if it still fills from pump then work out whats different and that's where the problem will lie. Nik1970 0
Thanks for the advice, I'll try getting it going with pump, and if that works it'll be regular fills. Bunnyblatter 1,012
Give it a quick sharp blast of air from the bottle mate. This usually seals everything and it should take air then 1 Quote Link to post
Nik1970 0
Guys, after tree creepers post I had a horrible suspicion that I had dumped 300 bar into gun. Sure enough I Went out a shot off 35 shots. It just kept going. Obviously not empty then!. Refilled much more carefully to 200 bar. Takes less then a second to fill. Is this about right? Durham John 693
Most new bottles have an anti surge in the filler line or gauge outlet, so if you are trying to fill it to quick it will close of the line. Your pump on the other hand will fill really slow so wont trigger the safety ! As Treecreeper has said Whats the gauge on gun showing? Quote Link to post
SimonC_Here 36
You should take your time filling from the bottle. It sounds like the valve in you new bottle isn't a flow restricted one and has a very course thread on the valve. Be very careful. I take 40 odd seconds to fill my 400cc airwolf from 120 - 200 bar and a little bit less to fill my (200cc?) Falcon from 130 - 185; Simon Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
As above allways fill the rifle as slow as possible , I allways leave the hose on for a minute or two , befor opening the valve Atb Quote Link to post
