Starting Pups

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what age dos everyone start der pups at i have a saluki cross hes eight months old loads of game, and never seen a ting just wondering at what age wpuld ya start the dogs pups at cause everyone different thanks

I start training them as Earlie as possible, sometimes as young as 4 weeks old but I don't enter them until they are physically and mentally capable, this can vary from breed to breed and pup to pup with no one sapling being the same.

I've had a pup I started at 7 months but I've also had one I started at 13 month. I find all the lads I know all do something a little different to start a pup and we all use our own judgement when to start pup off. Atb

Back to the OP....... I'm currently bringing my sapling on aka the idiot by letting him just follow my older dog and generally standing in a muddy field shouting till I'm red in the face and he decide

My collie bull grey got his first rabbit las nite at 9 months happy ta get him 1 before de summer came in..

Double them up at 7 weeks...     (Hares shot)

Do ppl just come on hear to put another man's dogs down an start a slagging match this is what it's like till next September Internet hunters feck what they say gaz only opinion that counts is your own bud All The Best.

Don't be sucked in by him stud dog and his opinions. Same man was trying to put me and my pup down who was 6 months old for chasing 2 geese into a lake, talking £20000 fines and 6 months in jail and when I put it back to him about putting me and my pup down he tried to say it was banter. Look to me like snappers 1st and 2nd post was a bit of banter and got called a helmet, so give him a bit of shit back.

And after quoting the law to me puts pics up of his dog with 2 hares ffs

What the feck you on about two geese you got wrong lad there mate

It was him mate.

I'm very happy with my bull x.just finished her first season and her willingness to hunt is unreal.

Mine has not even had a season and is the same. Was in the local park yesyerday and jumped a small fence after 2 Canadian geese and straight in the lake after them. He is coming along very nicely and I am more than happy with him.

You can be fined up to £20,000 or sent to prison for up to 6 months (or both) if your dog is deemed dangerously out of control in a public place.

No mate not you. Just got in myself, went out for a decent walk with my lad and pup. Had him doing a bit of jumping along the way. He has been a pleasure up to now and we have a very good bond.
